Answer: A dance form that involves a group of couples executing dance figures that involve interaction of the dancers as called by a caller to music. Usually involving 4 couples that start and end in a square formation.
Question: What is round dancing?
Answer: A dance form that involves the dancing of a choreographed pattern of figures to a specific piece of music with a defined rhythm. The choreographer has written a specific sequence of figures that will fit the music with a pleasing body flow. This form of dance is often cued but may also be performed as a memorized routine. The term round dancing came from the formation that the couples make on the floor (a circle). What is round dancing?
Question: What is the role of the caller, cuer, prompter?
Answer: A leader responsible for directing the dance. Provides guidance for the choreography/flow of the dance.
